Haven’t wanted to go outside for a run the last few days. Normally I wouldn’t do anything at all, but I still wanted to workout so I’ve been using my Wii Fit Plus and elliptical instead. I’d say that’s an improvement.

Wondering if going a mile on the elliptical counts as running a mile.
-
I’ve read a lot, okay, a bit about HIIt or High Intensity Interval Training, and I’ve seen it mentioned all over the place (when it comes to fitness talk). Just the other day, maybe it was yesterday (don’t remember), But I read an artilcle (don’t ask me which) that mentioned doing HIIt on the elliptical. Hey, I have one!
So I set it on it’s highest setting and dried doing some HIIT. I only managed a min more or less. It was, well, intense.
Now that I’m all warmed up I think I’ll go for a run in a bit.

To be healthy and fit: day 19
Forgot to log, but I still did it.
Elliptical machine: 18 mins! Started out with already sore muscles from the last time I used the machine, but I manged somehow.
The Starter’s Exercise Plan (day 4):45 jumping jacks and10 sit-ups25 crunches. I could barely do the 40, I didn’t think I could manage 45. -
To be healthy and fit: day 17
Elliptical machine: check. 17 mins. Do you know how much of a pain it is in of itself to regulate your speed, not too fast or too slow, just so your knee doesn’t cop out on you right there in the beginning? My knee was feeling fine…until I got on the elliptical.
The Starter’s Exercise Plan (day 2): 35 jumping jacks and 15 crunches. Done.

To be healthy and fit: day 13 (aka slow and steady wins the race)
Elliptical machine: About 1:30 min(s) in my right knee was kicking up a fuss so I decided to slow my pace to see if it would help. It did…for the right knee. My left decided then that it too was going to complain, with my lower back/side chorusing in. Well, I could ignore them and did. With the slower pace I was able to push through to 16 mins. Hurrah!

To be healthy and fit: day 12
Day 11: took a rest day
Day 12:
Elliptical Machine: done. 15 mins. Almost didn’t do it at all, but I made a bargain with myself. Knee hurts. -
To be healthy and fit: day 10
Elliptical machine (1): check. 15 mins. My right knee started hurting early on. I’m gonna take it as a sign that I should take tomorrow as a rest day.
Elliptical machine (2):After some thought, and a bit of pain from my knee as I walked around the house, the second workout is cancelled. I’m not risking my knee. -
To be healthy and fit: day 9
Elliptical machine (1): check. 15 mins. D@mn stitch in my side.
Elliptical machine (2): done. Pushed to 12 mins.Dishes and laundry were not a priority today. They didn’t really need doing today.

To be healthy and fit: day 8
Monday weigh in: I’m stuck on a plateau. I’ve been weighing myself most of the week and I keep seeing numbers between 315 lbs and 313 lbs. I started this off at 313 lbs. At least I know I can fix it and how.
I don’t think my long stressful weekend helped any either.
My solution: Use the elliptical machine twice daily instead of once a day.To do:
Put away clean clothes: check.
Unload and reload dishwasher: unloaded, check. The dishwasher isn’t fully loaded so can’t run it yet. In fact it’s mostly empty. The dish drainer is full though. There’ve been a few piles of dishes that need(ed) washing by hand.
Load washer: check.
Put load in dryer: check.Elliptical machine (1): check. 15 mins. Gonna wait till my heart rate is back to normal and I’m completely cooled down before I go for another 15.
Elliptical machine (2): DONE! Only 10 mins, but still a great workout. I had to stop earlier than I wanted because the stitch in my side was unbearable. -
To be healthy and fit: day 3
Unloaded and reloaded dishwasher: check. I feel like since I started running a load everyday (even if it has only been 3 days) I’m starting to win the War of the Clean Kitchen. The next war will be the War of the Clean Living Area. Not living room cause no one really uses the living room much. And not bedroom cause that is another war altogether.
Put away clean laundry: check.
Start new load: check. Let’s hope I remember to put this one in the dryer.Elliptical Machine: 15mins. Almost didn’t make it that far. By the time I reached 10mins I had to begin chanting to myself. “___mins left. We can do this. Almost there.” 14mins came along, was afraid I wouldn’t make it. Was already feeling fainty and just a tad nauseous. Made myself push on. Nearly fainted when I reached my chair. Drank all my water and I’m fine now.
Load laundry into dryer: forgot. But I’m about to go do just that right now.
*Btw, these log posts are being written as I do the task.*

To be healthy and fit: day 2
Clean clothes put away: check.
New load in the wash: check.
Dishwasher unloaded and reloaded: check.
Moved laundry load to dryer: check. This is big unfortunately. I tend to forget I even started a load and end up rewashing the same load a few times before it finally makes it to the dryer.Elliptical machine: check. 14mins!
I decided everyday I will push a little further. Just a little. Song #2 ended at the 9min mark so I told myself I just needed to push through till the end of song #3. Then I noticed I’d reached 12mins the original point I was going to push to today. So I check my ipod, 1:30mins left. “I can do it,” I told myself. And I did. But I don’t want to end on half minutes so I pushed to 14mins. Which means I have to push past 14 mins tomorrow.
I was a little worried in the beginning of my workout. My right knee began to hurt, or threatened to hurt, does that make sense? early on. But I ignored it and nothing came of the almost sorta pain. Which is good.
I have to be aware of my knee(s). About 10 years ago I was in a minor car accident. Minor because I was the only one with the most “injuries”. It was my little wagon versus a pick-up truck. Well, the worst of my “injuries” was from my knees colliding with my dashboard. My knees hurt for awhile after that, but like I said it was nothing major so didn’t think I needed to go to the hospital or have anyone take a look. But ever since then any time I’m really fatigued, and now sometimes while using the elliptical, one or both my knees begin to bother me. Usually dull aches I have a hard time relieving.
But all’s well today. -
To be healthy and fit: day 1
I’m not starting over, just starting the log over.
Today is day 1 (officially). One of my goals is to have a clean house, as well as a healthy body.
As clean as I can get it and keep it so with the roommates that I have. My fiancee and his brother that is. For those that haven’t been keeping track or new followers, they are 2 guys that were raised in a house with a single mother who did all the dishes and the laundry and etc because that was how she was raised. I was raised that both men and women did all chores equally regardless of gender. My “boys” (I only count one as mine, but others keep telling me otherwise. It’s hard to count the other due to are odd relationship. It’s kinda awkward and formal.) don’t seem to know how to put anything away for themselves. And due to said odd relationship with my bro-in-law I don’t put any of his stuff (ie. food and clothes) away.
Moving on:
Loaded the dishwasher and ran it: check.Elliptical machine: check. Did 10mins at lvl 3. I felt nauseous and a bit faint so only pushed it to 10mins. Since I haven’t been using the machine as much as I should I’m not surprised at the results.
SW/CW: 313.1 lbs (weight as of yesterday, the technical day 1)
HW: 326 lbs (never again!)
1st GW: 303 lbs by Nov. 22, 2012
UGW: *shrug* I’ll know when I get there. -
Yoga Booty Ballet, break, then elliptical machine = me with side stitch and pouring sweat.
