I remembered to time myself today. I found out that I can sustain a slow jog for 30 seconds! Go me! Seriously! I cannot wait till I can run for a full minute!
This all sounds lame and pathetic, I’m sure. -
New Runner Poblems
Started a side blog called New Runner Problems. For the purpose of sharing the problems I discover as a new runner.
Since I’m a creative person and I can’t seem to remember to post about my fitness journey on a regular basis this new blog might help.On a related note, I wasn’t actually able to run a full minute today…or at least not consecutively.
Try saying that word 3x fast. But I completed the workout and ready to try again tomorrow. -
Week 1: Day 5
Real nice walk. Just a bit nippy due to the wind. Glad I’m feeling better today to actually go for the walk.

Week 1: Day 1
Today I started Running for Beginners. Today marks the beginning of the first week.
Run 0 min. - Walk 4+1 min. (walking fast 4 and slow 1) Repeated 4x. Total time = 20 minsSince I went farther than I needed to I walked and extra 6 mins taken at the slower pace. Other than leaving my water bottle at home and the blister on my pinkie toe it was a pretty good walk.

I had this dream
In the dream, well, I don’t remember most of it or what it was even about, but in the dream I remember running. Not from anything or to, but for fitness. And I was thinner in the dream. But that’s normal for me, any time I dream me I’m thinner than in reality, because that’s how I see myself. As a fit thinner me.
(i’m adding this read more just because this is a long post)

Some post-workout thoughts
Why do I keep falling off the “exercise wagon”? I keep forgetting why. Especially after a good workout. Maybe it has to do with my old mentality when I thought exercise was something to be avoided.
Because I know it has nothing to do with my determination to get fit. That never lessens.
Maybe it’s because I start to doubt that I can do this.
I hate this flip flopping I do. -
no fainting…no fainting…no fainting…no fainting… my mantra right now. just got off elliptical. 18mins…couldn’t go any longer.. d@mn side stitch..

To be healthy and fit: day 19
Forgot to log, but I still did it.
Elliptical machine: 18 mins! Started out with already sore muscles from the last time I used the machine, but I manged somehow.
The Starter’s Exercise Plan (day 4):45 jumping jacks and10 sit-ups25 crunches. I could barely do the 40, I didn’t think I could manage 45. -
To be healthy and fit: day 18
The Starter’s Exercise Plan (day 3): 40 jumping jacks and 20 crunches. I could not do 40 consecutive jumping jacks. I did 33, nearly quit, and then did the final 7. 20 crunches? No problem.
Elliptical machine:Not today. Being cautious of my knee. -
To be healthy and fit: day 17
Elliptical machine: check. 17 mins. Do you know how much of a pain it is in of itself to regulate your speed, not too fast or too slow, just so your knee doesn’t cop out on you right there in the beginning? My knee was feeling fine…until I got on the elliptical.
The Starter’s Exercise Plan (day 2): 35 jumping jacks and 15 crunches. Done.

To be healthy and fit: day 16
The Starter’s Exercise Plan (day 1): 30 jumping jacks, 10 crunches
Omg! When was the last time I did a jumping jack? Middle school? High school? Maybe high school, maybe. My jiggling bits have changed since then! After about 5 jumping jacks I had to stop and “modify” them. It’s one thing to have my boobs bouncing up and down even in a sports bra! There was no way I could handle my lower jiggling belly fat flopping painfully like that! So instead of swinging my arms over head I used both hands to hold my more painful jiggle in place as I jumped.
The 10 crunches weren’t so bad. I’ve gotten used to crunches during an exercise video I’ve used.Elliptical machine:not happening today. Knee hurts. -
This is the new exercise plan I’m going to start. I’m going make two changes to this though. The first is to intersperse the elliptical machine every other day so I’m not killing my knee. And the second, I’m gonna stick to crunches instead of adding sit ups. I looked up the difference… I like crunches better. ..and I really don’t see much difference between the two except that you sit up all the way for sit ups and how you place your arms.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to find a new workout to intersperse with the elliptical machine. My knee has been hurting too much lately.
To be fit and healthy day 15 (yesterday) didn’t happen. Things happened, or didn’t, to conspire against me working out. And today isn’t over yet, but it doesn’t look good for potential workouts… maybe if I can find that new workout…

To be healthy and fit: day 13 (aka slow and steady wins the race)
Elliptical machine: About 1:30 min(s) in my right knee was kicking up a fuss so I decided to slow my pace to see if it would help. It did…for the right knee. My left decided then that it too was going to complain, with my lower back/side chorusing in. Well, I could ignore them and did. With the slower pace I was able to push through to 16 mins. Hurrah!

I mus’n’t let the scale discourage me from my Thanksgiving goal. …though it sure is doing a magnificent job at it….
